ADFEST has announced its third workshop as part of this year’s Craft@ADFEST stream, which is dedicated to trends in production, digital and technology trends.
Hosted by Christian Mix-Linzer, Chief Executive Officer of Tracks & Fields in Berlin, the workshop is called ‘How to make Music Decisions for Advertising’.
In order to make more objective music decisions, the team at Tracks & Fields has developed their own simple but effective tools, which they will share with ADFEST 2018 participants,” explains Mix-Linzer.
“Everyone has an opinion about music, but we don’t have guidelines to make sophisticated music decisions for commercials,” he explains.
In an interactive case study, participants will have the chance to apply these tools to a real-life project, which collected multiple awards for music at international advertising festivals. They’ll be guided through the entire music process, from brand ID, target audience, campaign idea and the agency briefing, before seeing how the tools took the project in a completely different direction.
Like most musicians, Mix-Linzer has been passionate about music from a very young age – he started his first record label at 16.
In 2008, he founded Berlin-based music supervision agency Tracks & Fields, which consults agencies, producers and brands on the use of music for audiovisual productions. Its services range from music strategy, creative concepts and song searches for TVCs and feature films to negotiations of license fees and contract management.
