Afshan is one of India’s most sought after directors to have received international recognition with a number of prestigious awards - Cannes Lions, One Show, D&AD, Kyoorius, Campaign India and more. She was also featured on the cover of Impact magazine as one of the 10 path breaking ad filmmakers. 

Being one of the very few women directors who are a go to for most brands, Afshan believes in change towards the better, especially for women. In the idealistic world of advertising, she was the first to make sanitary napkin ads with red liquid instead of blue for Rio Pads. This ad campaign, followed by a court case fought and won by Afshan & Good Morning Films, changed the way sanitary napkin ads are made. Having worked with various brands regularly like Coke, Titan, Allen Solly, Samsung, Dove and Savlon amongst others, she has an immaculate sense of adapting to any script, be it high fashion or everyday emotion. 

Coming from a family with rich musical heritage, the in-depth understanding of music she has helps elevate any film to unparalleled levels. This is reflected in award winning work such as Nanhi Kali, Pulsar, Savlon, Coke, Google, Titan, Amazon, Bisleri, Nykaa and Myntra among others. 

Besides the craft of filmmaking, the understanding of technicalities that she holds assists with the ideation and execution of her brilliance on-screen. It also helps with understanding the product better, like in Pulsar - Riderless; the accuracy with which VFX was used to make the film stand apart from the rest just goes to show how Afshan understands every product she makes a film on as well as the brand, target audience and price point etc. She is the first female director to make a bike commercial in our country.
