In 2013, ADFEST recognised David Droga as a Lotus Legend. Unfortunately, Droga couldn’t travel to Thailand to accept his award that year as his wife was expecting their fourth baby! But he did send an acceptance speech, which is well worth revisiting today, as he says lots of fascinating things about how working in Asia has influenced his career.
 
Droga says: “My time in Asia – albeit brief – was remarkably influential. What I learnt there and how I treat people and my belief that opportunities can come from anywhere and that perseverance and hard work get you very far – a lot of that I learned in Asia. I’ve learned that talent can come from anywhere, all different countries. I’ve taken that with me to London and hopefully you see that now where I am in New York.”
 
He added: “I am completely honoured and flattered that I would be even considered for such an amazing honour. ADFEST is such an amazing festival and celebrates a region that I have such a personal history with and really look back at with incredible fondness.”
 
Of course, since 2013, Droga5 has gone on to achieve countless more successes, making Droga even more of a Lotus Legend than he was in 2013.
