ADFEST is pleased to announce that 35 new and emerging directors from around the region are in contention to be named one of ADFEST 2017’s Fabulous Four New Directors.
 

“This year, we received 35 scripts from six different cities: Bangkok, Bulacan, Dhaka, Manila, Sydney and Tokyo. All the scripts are inspired by ADFEST 2017’s theme of ‘20 Years of Diversity’,” says Kem Suraphongchai, Festival Director at ADFEST.
 

The five-minute film scripts will now be judged by this year’s Film Craft Lotus and New Director Lotus Jury, led by Jury President Corey Esse, Managing Director and Executive Producer at FINCH.
 

The Film Craft Lotus and New Director Lotus Juries are currently judging all 35 scripts. The creators of the scripts that receive the highest scores will go on to be named ADFEST 2017’s Fabulous Four New Directors and take the stage to debut their short films at ADFEST 2017.
 

Jimmy Lam, ADFEST President, says: “Each director will have just a few weeks to bring their film scripts to life. It’s a huge challenge, but their efforts will be rewarded because the Fabulous Four program is renowned for being one of the most successful career launch pads for new directors in the world.”
 

ADFEST first launched the Fabulous Four program for new and emerging directors in 2008.
