JURIES : NICK SIMKINS: WHAT SEPARATES GOOD DIRECTORS FROM GREAT DIRECTORS IS A UNIQUE VOICE
Nick Simkins is executive producer at FINCH Australia and a jury member for Film Craft Lotus and New Director Lotus.

His list of accolades includes all the awards that matter, Cannes Lions, D&AD, LIA, The One Show, Spikes Asia, Ciclope, ADFEST and AWARD Awards among them.

“FINCH is somewhere that’s so innovative, and always trying to push themselves, while remaining a humble place, which is what I love about it,” he commented.

Simkins cut his teeth at the famous Partizan in London from 2004-2006, before working as a freelance producer and executive producer, except for a six-year stint at Jungle Productions. He joined FINCH in 2020 and became executive producer in 2022.

Simkins shared what stood out for him in the ADFEST jury rooms, How FINCH is using AI and conquering the changing world of advertising, and what turns a filmmaker into a signed director.

The ModiBodi work Simkins mentions in his interview is a brilliantly inventive reality series, I’m Dying Inside (a Gen Z period drama), for period underwear brand, ModiBodi. It was created by agency, Howatson+Company, and directed by FINCH director, Arundati Thandur.
