Korea is a nation that gained independence from colonization, and the memory of liberation holds deep emotional and symbolic meaning to the country. National Liberation Day (August 15) is one of the country’s most important public holidays, where people continue the tradition of shouting “Long live Korean independence!” during commemorative ceremonies—a ritual that has become a symbolic gesture of national pride. Yet, despite the significance of the day, no authentic sound remains from the moment Korea regained its freedom in 1945. This absence of recorded history became the foundation of our idea. By restoring the unheard sound of liberation, we provided a new emotional access point to the most significant moment in history.\r
\r
2. ‘Hearing 1945’ is an immersive sound experience restored with AI, recreating the roar of August 15, 1945, Liberation Day, when Korea regained freedom from Japanese rule. To restore the roar of Liberation Day 80 years ago, we didn't simply generate the sound in the same way as deepfakes and deep AI voices. The lost sound of Liberation was restored with AI following a thorough historical accuracy verification based on the photos and text records about the Liberation Day.","is_link":false}],"files2":[{"name":"RA07_007.mp4","type":"mp4"},{"name":"RA07_007_DI01L.jpg","type":"jpg"}],"count":2}
