SPEAKERS: MUSIC MAKES IT BETTER: SONG ZU’S RAMESH SATHIAH JOINS ADFEST 2012 AS A SPEAKER
SYDNEY: Ramesh Sathiah, Partner and Creative Director at Song Zu in Sydney, is joining ADFEST 2012’s line-up of Speakers in the session “Song Zu Presents Magical Manipulation: How music makes it better”.

“I am thrilled to be speaking at ADFEST 2012. I love to talk about music and I especially love to pull back the veil a little into a world that itself is a labyrinth. I hope, by deconstructing music and sound into its building blocks, we can then put the pieces back together and understand how music can work in harmony with the idea,” says Sathiah.

Sathiah’s session takes place on Monday 19th March, 3:30pm, and will define how music fits into the cultural landscape. He will break sounds down into basic building blocks, then reconstruct them to help creative professionals better understand the tools at their disposal.

His presentation will also explore the powerful relationship between music and visuals, and the emotional 'grading' that can be achieved with the right scoring and sound design. Some visuals work in harmony with the pictures, but sometimes dissonance between visuals and sound can be more effective.

“Song Zu is one of the Asia Pacific’s leading music and sound design companies with studios in both Sydney and Singapore, and we’re pleased to welcome Ramesh to Thailand where he will share his passion for music with delegates at ADFEST 2012,” says Jimmy Lam, President of ADFEST.

Sathiah started working at Song Zu in 1997 and was made Creative Director of the Singapore studios at age 25. Since then he worked on some of the biggest campaigns in the region for clients including Singapore Airlines, Sony Ericsson, Coca-Cola and Johnny Walker. He has won many awards for his contributions at London International, ADFEST, AWARD and the APRA Australian Guild of Screen Composers awards.

ADFEST 2012 takes place on 18th – 20th March, 2012 at PEACH, Royal Cliff Hotels Group, Pattaya, Thailand.  For further information, please visit www.adfest.com
