A pan-Asian creative, Ashwin was born in New Delhi, cut his advertising teeth in Auckland, rose through the ranks to become a Creative Director in Melbourne. He now calls New Zealand home. 

Ashwin has earned a reputation for work that ‘does’ rather than just ‘say’. 

This year, he was awarded Australasia’s only Yellow Pencil at D&AD.

This was for his work on creating ‘Mr Humfreez’ for ANZ Bank, a sustainable smart device made by programming wood, that showed Kiwis if their home was too cold or damp according to World Health Organisation standards. 

Previously, he has hijacked a live sports broadcast watched by a billion people for Adidas, sold shoplifted items to promote a movie about shoplifting, turned fans’ Facebook comments into live radio commentary, and made a necktie to protest to the 2019 Cricket World Cup final result (because it was a tie).

His work has been recognized at D&AD, Cannes Lions, One Show, Clio, Spikes Asia, AWARD Awards, ADFEST and more.
