Woon Hoh graduated from the Graphic Design School of Fine Arts, San Francisco, USA in 1992 and started his advertising career started in Malaysia. During those years, Woon built up an impressive portfolio of work in some of the top Kuala Lumpur agencies such as Spider, JWT and McCann.
Woon then expanded his career further afield when he lead the creative department McCann and Hakuhodo Indonesia before assuming the role of Chief Creative Officer of Hakuhodo Asia Pacific, the regional office of Hakuhodo agencies in Asia Pacific
Prior to taking up the role of Regional Executive Creative Director, Woon was Executive Creative Director of Hakuhodo Indonesia. Under his leadership, the agency was consistently ranked among the top three in Indonesia, recently winning agency of the year yet again in Citra Pariwara 2016.
Woon's strength lies in his ability to work across cultures and across a broad spectrum of brands. His track record on a mix of global and local blue chip accounts including Unilever, Nestle, Kao Biore, Shell, Pizza Hut and Danamon Bank is testament of Woon's understanding of business and the need to constantly raise the creative bar. Little wonder then that Woon is constantly invited to judge the top creative Awards Shows in the region.
Woon is currently devoting his time to nurturing young talent and building teams across Asia to deliver a superior creative product and cutting edge thinking. Since its inception six years ago, Woon has led his team in Hakuhodo Asia Pacific to win many major awards including Best of Show and multiple gold at the One Show, New York Festivals, London International Awards, AWARD, Citra Pariwara, Kancils, Longxi Awards, Bangkok Art Directors’ Awards (B.A.D), ADFEST, Spikes Asia and Cannes.
Yasuharu (Yasu, to those who know him) is an Executive Creative Director with a background in computer science whose curiosity has always found a way into writing, digital design, and programming. Although he works in advertising, what inspires him extends well beyond into areas like hybrid arts, digital architecture, game design, and interactive product design. A self-professed ‘Geek,’ Yasu spends time inventing things in the field of next-generation communications.
In 1995 Yasu joined Dentsu, where he accomplished advertising’s greatest feat: staying at the same agency for 22 years. With additional stints at IconNicholson, StrawberryFrog and Dentsu America, he has worked on clients such as Honda, Coca-Cola, Canon, All Nippon Airways, Kirin Brewery, Lenovo, Google and UNIQLO. His list of awards includes Cannes Lions, D&AD, The One Show, Spikes, ADFEST and Clio, of which he’s also been a jury member.
Currently, Yasu is in charge of leading digital creative teams at Dentsu, developing creative ideas, and producing advertising/beyond-advertising campaigns especially for interactive, non-traditional, and integrated communications. He also leads innovation teams who are inventing and developing new services, products and platforms using digital technologies.
