ABOUT THE WORKSHOP


It's the ultimate exploration of creative diversity.


We show participants how to position themselves with their clients so they are invited to "the big table"; that secretive place in your client's office tower that is way above the marketing department; where your clients' owners and leaders discuss their primary problems and opportunities.


Unless we sit at that table, our industry will always be subservient to the action that ensues; we will be given half a solution to enact (eg: an ad campaign to fix what you know is primarily a product innovation problem, or an issue with distribution, or an ill-advised brand extension).


Being subservient to a company's thinking is death for our industry. We are doomed to become glorified ad factories.


The groundbreaking workshop first explores the participants own career purpose, to unlock their potential to change the world.


It then takes that drive and shows how to shape their agency and their career around it to affect real change in their clients' businesses.


Using interactive exercises, case studies and hypotheticals, the participants will emerge with a renewed sense of pride in our industry's role in society and a business model to help their agency rise above the competition.


ABOUT MIKE EDMONDS


Mike Edmonds, Chairman, Meerkats, Perth


Mike Edmonds is one of the leading visionaries of the Western Australian branding and marketing industry.


With a 30 year career as ECD, Mike has judged at Cannes Lions and Dubai Lynx, has lectured in New York, Jakarta and Sydney. He has been invited to speak by AWARD, Mumbrella and Ad:tech NZ.


His agency Meerkats has been named Campaign Brief Agency of the Year 3 times in 5 years.


With the Asian advertising market closer to Perth than Sydney, Mike feels passionately about sharing Meerkats' philosophies here. He also feels strongly about we industry leaders leaving our egos behind and sharing our knowledge openly. His agency believes in giving away its IP in the hopes that it helps create a more effective, and thereby respected, advertising industry globally.
