Music. Everybody loves it, most have an opinion on it. It’s an extremely important aspect of a commercial but often it ends up as a mere afterthought.

In this hands-on and interactive workshop by the renowned and award winning music agency Sizzer Amsterdam, a light will be shed on the briefings, processes & decisions that take place when pairing music with an advertisement. By going through each step of the process we will give an insight into the creation of some of Sizzers best projects.

This workshop will provide you with the tools you need to use music in your commercials not only as a mere addition, but as a powerful and emotive tool that can send an advertisement far beyond its expected reach.

Marcel Alexander Wiebenga, Partner & Music Supervisor, Sizzer Amsterdam

As a drummer Marcel A. Wiebenga (1978) conquered a place in music history during the mid-nineties. After graduating, he toured Europe and the United States with the internationally renowned rock band Oil. The five-piece band performed at many Dutch music festivals, such as Lowlands and Noorderslag. Oil released the album Definition Delta and two singles during its seven-year existence. The band broke up in 2004.

Marcel in the meantime continued his musical career and joined the punk band Das Oath. This Dutch-American band toured the United States, Europe and even Japan on multiple occasions and released numerous records with labels such as Dim Mak, Gold Standard Laboratories and Three One G. The punk success of Das Oath was a dream come true for Marcel, but wasn’t viable as a long-term career.

Since 2008 Marcel works at Sizzer Amsterdam. He supervises music for Hyundai, Diesel and Martini campaigns amongst others.

Niall Rogers, Music Supervisor, Sizzer Amsterdam

Niall Rogers love for music started at a young age, playing guitar and singing in Dublin based bands. Following that he started a club night called Southpaw in Dublin city. They ran parties in some of Dublin's biggest nightclubs and DJ’d at prominent Irish music festivals. This April Niall is releasing an EP with his brother on the label Orange Tree Edits, based out of Dublin.

He spent four years working between Dublin and San Francisco as a business developer in the tech industry and joined Sizzer in mid 2016 as music supervisor focusing on Coca Colas global ad campaigns.
